bar
A perfect evening in Zacatecas would have to include a
visit to this bar. When the ring was in use, these
cellars were the bull corrals and today you can still
see the graffiti inscribed by onlookers.
Now the tunnels through which the bulls were released into the ring are cozy alcoves, sealed by a glass window. Small tables are available under the low arches and the lighting is suitably subdued.
For a hotel bar it's amazingly atmospheric and an ideal
contrast to the formality of the restaurant. When we
don't feel like a five course extravaganza we choose
nachos or other nibbles from the bar menu and retreat to
our cozy tunnel.
