| The hotel was just what we wanted, small, friendly, very clean. If we ever went back to Playa del Carmen we would stay in that hotel again, but would definitely prefer a balcony room. Our room had a jacuzzi in a cute little patio, but we had no view and it was much too hot to jacuzzi! So balcony room is the choice for us. The one thing we were not prepared for was the crowded beach. Chair to chair crowded and sometimes chairs were not available for paying guests, while outsiders commandeered them and simply paid the $10 for their use. This only happened on the weekend, but unfair nevertheless. We found that we loved walking Avenida 5 in the evening and just choosing a restaurant at will and watching the never ending parade on the street. Prices were extremely reasonable everywhere. M. | We had a great stay. The hotel was clean, quiet and located close to everything. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful with dinner suggestions. We hope to return in the future.

| As you may know from the dates hurricane Wilma paid us a visit during our vacation. Steve, Delmy and the staff were great. The beach hotels were evacuated and they made arrangements for us (all guests of the hotel) in another hotel. At the first possible moment they brought us a warm meal and an update on what they have seen and heard from officals. As soon as possible they recieved us back as guest and they continued being great hosts. I will defininitely stay at the Playa Maya during future visits and I will recommend it to my friends which make frequent visits to the area. R. Freiday, West St. Paul, United States
